As a graphics and exhibition designer in my early twenties I soon realised that I could transfer my keen eye for balance and proportion into the garden.  Designing gardens for friends I often wondered what it would be like to use this skill professionally.  Only now, some thirty years later, after many gardens have passed over my drawing board, can I call myself a professional Garden Designer.

Inspired by the great John Brookes after reading his book 'Garden Design', I was determined to gain all the experience I could lay my hands on and studied at the Brinsbury College of Agriculture to qualify in Garden Design.

My association with Brinsbury has been gratifying.  They invited me to submit a design for their entry into the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show, 2002.  The construction skills of Brinsbury landscape students created the end result from my drawings - the garden was awarded a silver medal.
